Stone Carving, Alternate Sundays 11.30am – 5.30pm & Mondays 6.30 – 9.00pm

Stone Carving dates back to early Classical Civilisation and many of the techniques used by the old masters are still in use today.

Students can learn these skills to create classical and contemporary carving, relief carving, lettering, and figurative or abstract carvings.  Students will also be taught how to make a maquette and the importance of the design process to making their work.

Course tutor Simon Keeley has been working as a stone carver for over twenty years.  He is passionate about his craft, having undertaken many commissions for prestigious buildings and clients around Britain.  He enjoys teaching, as he likes to share his enthusiasm for Stone Carving with as many people as possible.
